Elevator shaft installed in National monument

The redevelopment of the Kaaspakhuis in Gouda is in full swing. The building is a national monument and, for the past 100 years, has always functioned as a cheese warehouse.
With some clever architectural and structural interventions, it will be possible to transform the former cheese warehouse into a bright and spacious residential building. There will be 50 apartments of 60-120 m2, with a large atrium in the centre. The Gouda cheese history has not been forgotten in the plans.
Last week, the elevator shaft was installed. In the video below, you can see how this was realised (video: AMMO – Amber Heij & Mei architects and planners as architect).
