First pile parking garage Meelfabriek
Hitting the first pile under the parking garage represents a new milestone for 'De Meelfabriek'. We use this as the foundation for the future courtyard and the Singel Tower, which will be added to the parking garage. The garage will provide space for 320 cars and is intended for both the future residents of the complex and for the customers and employees of the companies on the Meelfabriek site.
Ab van der Wiel - the initiator and inspirator of the redevelopment of 'De Meelfabriek' in Leiden - today had an extra reason for a beautiful day. In addition to hitting the first pile for the parking garage by VNO-NCW chairman Hans de Boer, he received from the Restauration Fund director Kees-Jan Dosker the "Restauration Fund compliment 2018". The National Restoration Fund awards this prize annually to people with initiative who make an impactful contribution to the preservation of monuments. Ab van der Wiel certainly meets these criteria and therefore received this award today.
