Hotel Jakarta Amsterdam has opened its doors!
The hotel on the Java Island in Amsterdam is the 'greenest' hotel in the Netherlands. In the atrium a tropical garden has been created in collaboration with the Hortus Botanicus and the hotel is energy-neutral.
Hotel Jakarta is the highest modular building with wooden support structure in the Netherlands. Hotel Jakarta is also the first energy-neutral hotel in the Netherlands. We used PV panels, also in the façades, and a heat recovery installation is used.
In the building we made use of wood, also as structure material. For example, in the walls and ceilings of the room modules. The hotel has been designed with the aim of achieving a Breeam Excellent certificate, which is in line with the excellent sustainability score during the design competition.
