Pieters Amsterdam is temporarily less accessible
From Monday 8 April 6 am to Thursday 18 April 2019 6 am, the Zuiderzeeweg - IJburglaan intersection and the Piet Hein tunnel will close for motorized traffic. This is the intersection to get to Pieters Amsterdam from the A10. So if you have planned a visit to Pieters Amsterdam during this period, we recommend that you take extra travel time into account.
Cyclists, pedestrians and emergency and emergency services can visit the work. Cars are redirected with signs via the S112 (Gooiseweg) and the S116 (Nieuwe Leeuwarderweg).
Since the end of January 2019 work has been taking place at the Zuiderzeeweg - IJburglaan junction. In order to have the work completed safely and as planned, the intersection must be closed for car traffic. The work is necessary for:
- Improve traffic flow and bus line 37.
- Reduce bus rides to tram by moving the bus stops closer to the tram stop.
- More space for cyclists.
- Placing a traffic jam prevention system for the Piet Hein tunnel.
