Unique villa Cadzand now also in Vogue Living

26 June 2017

The unique villa in Cadzand, wherefore Pieters Bouwtechniek the stuctural engineer is, is now in Vogue Living. What contains the project Villa Cadzand?

24H-architecture has redesigned a historical farmyard in Zeeuws Vlaanderen for a Flemish client. There was once a house from the fifties, which was demolished and replaced by a villa rehearsed by American reverberation. The enormous shed behind was partly renovated, partly rebuilt and on the corner of the site is an old toll house that has been rebuilt rigorously.

The construction of the villa consists of massive iroko columns. The stability is provided by the wooden trusses and by steel joints that have been removed in the slate wall. The construction of the new part of the barn consists of laminated iroko trusses. In the barn there is a prefab concrete element in which sanitary and kitchen is placed.

The construction and finishing work has been developed in detail by the architect. This makes the particular application of wood well visible.
