National Concrete Prize 2017
Category Housing construction: Villa K6, Amsterdam

The rough formwork boards are visible in the concrete, which is applied in small layers, resulting in slight color differences. This layer technique, known by architect Peter Zumthor in his Feldkapelle in Wachtendorf, brings interest in the craft back to life. As well as the need to decorate. Here with beautiful cast-iron water and center pin nodes. This house is literally a jewel.
The Concrete Prize is a biennial prize for projects in which the material concrete has been applied in a special way
