Progress SAWA, Rotterdam

The construction of SAWA in Rotterdam is in full swing, as can be seen in the photos on the right. The foundation is completely ready and the prefab concrete core has reached the 8th floor. Soon, the first wooden components will be installed, revealing the green ambitions of the building.

SAWA
SAWA is a unique wooden residential building in the heart of the Lloydkwartier in Rotterdam. The program comprises approximately 100 homes, 50 of which are mid-range apartments.

What is special about SAWA is that the building is built in CLT (cross laminated timber) as much as possible, whereby the different layers of wood are glued crosswise each time. CLT is very stable and can absorb large forces. Plants and other greenery are integrated in balconies, terraces and on the deck.
